Buy a Tangem wallet
Tangem makes hardware wallets without a screen, cable or battery. Instead of a device with buttons, you use a card the size of a bank card or a ring with a chip inside. You connect it to your smartphone via NFC: you hold the card or ring against your phone and confirm your transaction in the Tangem app. The private keys are stored on the chip and not in the cloud. Tangem is a Swiss brand and, according to the specifications, its products are open source.
A Tangem wallet is a good fit if you mainly manage your crypto on your phone (iOS or Android) and want a wallet you can easily carry in your wallet or on your finger. In the Tangem app you can buy crypto, swap coins and stake. To see which coins are supported, use the link to the coin list on the product page.

This table shows the differences based on the specifications on the product pages.
| Model | Form | Connection | Works with | In the box |

| Tangem Ring | Ring, sizes 6 to 13 US (16.51 to 22.33 mm) | NFC | iOS and Android | Tangem Ring, 2 Tangem cards and a manual |
Neither has a screen or a desktop version: you only use them with your phone. The Tangem cards are available in various colours and editions. The chip in the cards is a Samsung S3D232A.
Which Tangem is right for me?
- You want a wallet that fits in your wallet: choose the Tangem Wallet 2.0 Cards. You get 2 or 3 identical cards, so you can keep one as a spare in a different place. To activate, you tap the card against your phone; within 3 minutes the chip generates a random private key.
- You want to wear your wallet at all times: choose the Tangem Ring. You hold the ring against your phone to authorise transactions. The box also contains 2 Tangem cards. Choose the right ring size; the sizes are listed on the product page.
- You want to check transactions on a screen on the device itself, or use your wallet with a computer: then Tangem is not the right fit. Take a look at the Ledger or Trezor models, or use the hardware wallet selection guide.

Frequently asked questions about Tangem
Does a Tangem wallet need a battery or cable?
No. The cards and the ring work with your phone via NFC and do not need cables or batteries.
Does Tangem work with a computer?
No. Tangem only works with a smartphone with NFC, via the Tangem app on iOS or Android.
Why do I get several cards?
The cards in a set are identical, much like having several keys to the same door. If you lose one, you still have another. So don't keep all the cards in the same place.
What is the difference between the cards and the ring?
Mainly the form. The cards fit in your wallet or card holder; the ring is worn on your finger. Both work with the Tangem app via NFC. Read more about the ring in Tangem Ring.
Can I enter my seed phrase or recovery details online?
No. Never enter a seed phrase on a website, in an email or in an app you don't trust, and never share it with anyone. Genuine support staff will never ask for it.
How do I move my crypto to my Tangem?
You send your coins from your exchange to the receiving address shown in the Tangem app. See the guide for moving crypto from Coinmerce to Tangem cards.
